SHADE OF VERDE

INTERIOR DESIGN AND STYLING: STUDIO YUGEN / PHOTOGRAPHER: MAY PHOTOGRAPHY

Timeless mid-century style.

Inspired by the client’s penchant for timeless mid-century style, Shade of Verde combines a solitary wash of green with solid walnut fixtures to transform the functionality of a traditional Queenslander home.

Working within the existing parameters of the house, this renovation, reinvigorated a kitchen and study in Brisbane’s leafy suburb of Ferny Hills. This simple transformation was conceived with intention to allow the family to use the space in an entirely new way.

Being one of few communal spaces within the home, the client’s desire to allow more kitchen functionality – than just meal preparation – is met with a reconfigured plan and now, a place of congregation where a growing young family can reconvene after a day spent at work and school. The cleverly concealed desk space invites the family to continue working, whilst in the heart of the home.
