SKY BLUE

INTERIOR DESIGN AND STYLING: STUDIO YUGEN / PHOTOGRAPHER: MAY PHOTOGRAPHY / WORDS BY: AARON CHAPMAN

A sense of intrigue in every room.

The layering of playful oceanic undertones, with the restrained use of rattan and warm timber, offers a distinguishing feeling to each and every room of Sky Blue Penthouse’s spacious floor plan.

MATERIALS

RECYCLED GLASS BENCH TOP / ENCAUSTIC TILES / TERRAZZO / MARBLE KITKAT TILES

With the client’s desire to have the design approached in a distinctive way, the brief required a sense of intrigue in every room by offsetting classic design elements with contemporary feature pieces. The otherwise bleached palette of the kitchen is coloured by the aqua and blue glint of glass – recycled from old windows and discarded bottles – found in a unique Vetrazzo benchtop. This statement piece anchors the home, while a bold and black powdercoated armchair by CJ Anderson commands attention in the living area and fills the light void of morning sunshine.
